SUNDAY IN THE CITY - Click here to download a printable word document $45.00* per person. While this adventure is truly “priceless,” the cost includes round-trip bus transportation, ferry and entry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and a Box Breakfast. Start Spreadin’ the News...We’re Leaving Today... THE DAY BEGINS at the beautiful Thayer Hotel, where we board our bus with all the comforts of home (i.e. bathroom and DVD player!) at 6:45 AM and head for Battery Park. We’ll take a short ride on the Statue Cruises Ferry, which offers some of the best views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. We’ll have approximately 3 hours to explore the grand Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, and the gateway for the millions of immigrants who have sought a new life in the United States, historic Ellis Island. On the 27.5 acre island, we’ll visit the Museum of Immigration, which commemorates immigrants’ courage and determination. NEXT we’ll be let off at the fun and whimsical M & M World at 48th Street and...YES... Broadway!! Spend some time in the store making your tasty purchases (many of their items have a New York City theme.) We’ll have about 2 hours of free time to have lunch and visit Times Square, the heart of NYC. See the Theater District; wander through the vibrant City streets and people-watch, a favorite City pastime. Your walking tour options may include the high-end Fifth Avenue shops, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Plaza Hotel, and the famous FAO Schwarz Toy Store (and this is the “short list” of things to see!) THEN we board the bus (or walk up on our own) to famous Rockefeller Center, where we’ll see the famous ice skating rink and have the option of marveling at the magnificent view of New York City from the 360-degree skyline at Top of the Rock Observation Deck. We end our SUNDAY IN THE CITY adventure as we board our bus at 6:00 PM for our trip back to The Thayer Hotel, arriving at 7:00 PM. Don’t Miss the Action…It’s Up To You...New York, New York!! |
